The hotel has been well known in the Nihonbashi area since its establishment, and over the years has built a deep connection with the local community.<\/p>\n<p>The hotel is a family-run business that has been in operation for generations. Mr. Tetsuo Kudo, the president of the hotel, is the fourth generation of the family to manage the hotel. Each generation has made improvements to the hotel to meet the needs of the times, and the hotel has developed. We value the historical local character of Nihonbashi and continue to provide services that reflect the culture and traditions of the area.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2020, the hotel underwent a major<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reconstruction<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with all new hotel rooms and facilities. This street has developed as the commercial and cultural center of Nihonbashi since the Edo period, and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">still retains its original appearance<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The name \u201cToki no Kane Dori\u201d comes from the \u201cToki no Kane\u201d (bell of time) once installed in the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">street<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which was rung to tell the time during the Edo period.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\nAlong the street, many long-established stores and commercial facilities line the street, giving the area a unique old town atmosphere. In particular, traditional stores and cultural facilities that have been around since the Edo period are clustered together, making it a place that retains a strong historical background. Although small as a street, it is famous for the involvement of historical figures active in the Edo period, such as Yosa Buson, one of the three greatest haiku poets of the Edo period, Oishi Kuranosuke of the Ako Roshi, and Siebold, who made his name in Dutch studies.<br \/>\n<div class=\"su-column su-column-size-1-2\"><div class=\"su-column-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/raw.githubusercontent.com\/yuuki00682200\/repo\/refs\/heads\/master\/%E3%81%8B%E3%81%9A%E3%81%95%E3%82%84\/DSCF6652-2.jpg\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1536\" \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toki no Kane Street<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/div><\/div>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"su-row\">\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And inside the hotel building, there is the Edo \u201cToki no Kane Dori\u201d Museum, where you can experience the history and culture of Nihonbashi in more depth. There are many attractions such as materials related to the \u201cToki no Kane\u201d (bell of time) that has continued since the Edo period and an exhibition that recreates the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">old map<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of Nihonbashi as it was in those days. This refers to the variety of dyeing techniques used by the townspeople of the Edo period (1603-1867), who added various shades and tints of brown and rat colors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The interiors of the guest rooms are decorated in slightly dull and mellow colors, creating a visually peaceful and calming atmosphere. The Shirasu wall not only regulates humidity and deodorizes, but also inactivates viruses that come into contact with it, a property that keeps the wall clean. We also offer an ozone generator rental service to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable stay.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, all water in the guestrooms (sinks, showers, toilets, and bidet toilets) is purified water. The water purification system of \u201cRyosui Kobo\u201d is installed to reduce residual chlorine and impurities in tap water and to provide mild and delicious water that retains its mineral content. The author actually tried this water and found it to be very easy to drink, with a natural flavor that spread in the mouth.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-row\">\n<p><strong>Enjoying the unique taste of Nihonbashi<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Shokudo Shusai -Toki no Kane-\u201d is a restaurant located in Hotel Kazusaya. It offers Japanese cuisine that makes the most of seasonal ingredients while respecting the history and traditions of the Edo period. The restaurant&#8217;s name, \u201cToki no Kane\u201d (bell of time), comes from an Edo period bell in Nihonbashi, and the space is characterized by a sense of history and elegance. The interior is designed in a calm, modern Japanese style, allowing diners to enjoy their meals while relaxing.<\/p>\n<p>Among the many delicacies, you can enjoy the unique taste of Nihonbashi, such as breakfast where you can enjoy seaweed from Yamamoto Nori, a long-established dried laver that has been in business since the Edo period, and oedo dashi shabu (soup stock) using Ninben, a dried bonito flakes that has been in business for more than 320 years. In the evening, you can enjoy Japanese sake and shochu with obanzai made from seasonal ingredients in an izakaya style. Guests can spend a relaxing time while relieving the fatigue of traveling.<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant is popular not only with hotel guests, but also with nearby businessmen, tourists, and locals. I actually had lunch there, and was impressed by the attention to detail that went into each dish, as well as the generous portions that were very tasty. What was particularly impressive was the rice cooked in a kiln using 100% Koshihikari rice produced in Fukui.
